Memorial service for Juliana C. Cole who passed away February 24 2007 at Halifax Medical Center will be held Friday March 2 2007 at 3:00 PM at Christ Presbyterian Church 1035 West Granada Blvd. Ormond Beach with Dr. John Cole officiating. Mrs. Cole was born in Montgomery WV on November 28 1916 to Bert and Hallie Claypool. She was a graduate of West Virginia University and received her Masters in Library Science from George Peabody College. In 1940 she married Woodrow W. Coleman. After his death in 1952 she moved with her two young sons to Bradenton FL where she taught public school and was a librarian. She was a charter member of Palma Sola Presbyterian Church a Sunday School Teacher as well as an elder. A widow for 27 years she then married a former college sweetheart John Cole who taught vocational woodworking in West Virginia. Upon his death in 1998 she moved to this area to be near one son. She was an active member Sunday School Teacher and Circle Moderator at Christ Presbyterian Church. She was a member of Delta Gamma Sorority and AAUW and enjoyed reading music genealogy and her family. Mrs. Coles' love for books reading and education has been passed on to three generations of family producing a college professor an engineer a public school teacher and a Phd candidate in Mathematics. She is survived by two sons Dr. William F. Coleman (Sandra) Wellesley MA and Robert W. Coleman (Bobbi) Ormond Beach; two Grandsons Matthew E. Coleman (Stephanie) Ormond Beach and Micah S. Coleman (Hiroko) Gainsville; two great granddaughters Katie and Kelly Ormond Beach; two step-daughters Joyce Joy (Richard) Marrietta OH and Nancy DiBias Kannapolis NC; and eight step-grandchildren. Around the clock care the past year has been given by C. J. Card and Delsa Kelly of Granny Nannies. The family has asked in Lieu of flowers memorial donations be made to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Volusia/Flagler 217 N. Stone St. Suite C Deland Florida 32720.
