Julia Pires Fernandes, 83, of New Bedford, Massachusetts a former resident of Port Orange, Florida passed away peacefully on Tuesday January 22, 2019. She was the wife of the late Henrique Fernandes. Julia was born in Cape Verde Island, Portugal to Alvaro and Maria (Gonsalves) Pires. She was employed by Cliftex Corporation until her retirement. Survivors include her 2 daughters: Laura Ribeiro (Michael Frey) of Rochester, MA. and Christine  (Denis) Goudreau of Ormond Beach, FL., 2 brothers Joaquim (Julia) Fortes and Joseph (Toni) Pires, her sister Ana Miranda and her aunts uncle and many cousins. Visitation will be held at Lohman Funeral home Daytona from 10:30-12:00 on Friday, February 8, followed by a funeral service at 12 pm. Burial will follow ayt Daytona Memorial Park.
