In Loving Memory of Judy Schroder
November 29, 1940 – May 29, 2025
The world lost a light on May 29, 2025.
Judy Schroder, 84, a devoted sister to Arthur "Butch" Frye, a cherished friend, beloved neighbor, and lifelong giver, passed away leaving behind a legacy of kindness, service, and unshakable generosity. To those lucky enough to know her, Judy wasn't just a friend — she was family.
A retired elementary school teacher, Judy never stopped caring for others. Whether it was bringing cookies and ice cream to assisted living residents, leading crafts and games to brighten lonely afternoons, or simply showing up for someone in need — she made every soul she touched feel seen and loved.
This past year, even at 84, Judy faithfully picked up meals every Sunday morning for Hope Place, ensuring others were fed, even while a dear friend was ill and she herself deserved rest. On holidays, her home was a haven — her kitchen always open to anyone who would've otherwise been alone. She didn't just give to charity — she lived charity.
Her love extended to all creatures, great and small. People, pets, and passersby alike were blessed by her presence. Judy's life was a daily act of compassion — quiet, consistent, and true.
Those of us who remain are heartbroken. But we are also better for having known her, loved her, and been loved by her in return. Her spirit lives on in every act of kindness we carry forward.
