IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Judy
Reeves
September 10, 1949 – July 21, 2025
Judy Lynn Reeves, lost her long and valiant battle with lung disease on July 21, 2025. She was 75.
Judy was a beacon of light: Almost always dressed head- to-toe in her cheerful Lilly Pulitzer outfits, she exuded positivity even when she struggled to breathe.
Born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee, Judy's beloved parents, George and Mildred Burton, taught her to value kindness and faith above all else. Judy lived in many places but spent the last 40+ years of her life in Florida. After moving to Daytona Beach, she knew she wanted to live there forever.
While she worked hard assisting her late husband in his private medical practice, her primary devotion was to her children. More than anything, she loved her six children, her nine grandchildren, her great-granddaughter, her dog Coconut, and her countless dear friends.
Before her illness, Judy was addicted to physical fitness. She would run and/or walk for hours each day if she could while talking to her children or friends and then do hundreds of sit-ups and other exercises. She never sat still. She was thrilled to have run in the Disney half-marathon.
She loved to read (mostly Danielle Steel, Kristin Hannah and historical fiction), and she enjoyed being part of a book club.
She had an adventurous spirit. She traveled around the world to London, Paris, Prague, Munich, Vienna, Salzburg, Edinburgh, Amsterdam and many other places where, among other things, she visited castles and went on Sound of Music tours (special to her because she named three of her children after the Von Trapp children). She made many trips to New York City to visit her daughter, where she loved to shop and walk across the Brooklyn Bridge. She always had fun going with her family to Disneyworld. A particularly meaningful destination was her final trip to Memphis to Graceland where she reveled in visiting Elvis Presley's home.
Judy always put others first and spent her life trying to help those she cared about. She spent endless hours working on scrapbooks for each of her children to preserve family memories. She regularly baked cookies and took them to friends and neighbors. Wherever she lived, she befriended her neighbors.
In the last couple of years, she looked forward to her Bingo games and was an avid fan of Price is Right.
She loved her precious Coconut, her Maltipoo who passed away at almost 17 years old in the last year. Judy made sure that Coconut always was dressed in an adorable outfit, often with matching bows. She walked her in a stroller, and they were devoted to each other to the end.
Nothing was more important to Judy than her Christian faith. She read her Bible each day and prayed for her family and friends. Judy was always grateful to God for all her blessings and the time she had. She was positive and appreciative until the very end. Never did she question her faith. She would always say, "Be grateful for all you have; be grateful to God every day for your health; enjoy your life."
Judy is survived by her children: Natalie Lynn Reeves, April Elise Duncan, Liesl Reeves, Heidi Gretl Harding, Lindsay Maria Jennings, and Ronnie Reeves, Jr.; her grandchildren: Austin, Morgan, Victoria, Megan, Abbigail, Oscar, Madelyn, Annabelle and Anderson; and her great-granddaughter Lilly.
