Judy Bryson Nelson 73 of Ormond Beach died Monday April 25 2011. Born at home in Greenville SC she was the youngest child of the late U.S. Congressman of South Carolina Joseph Raleigh Bryson and Ruth Rucker Bryson. She was a graduate of Florida State University; she was a social worker for the State of Florida and retired in 1995. Judy was a member of First United Methodist Church of Ormond Beach.
She is survived by three children and seven grandchildren: daughter Amy N. Laycock husband R. Lynn Emily and Sarah of Buchanan Dam TX; son Peter G. Nelson wife Melissa Rebecca Carla and Philip of Gera Germany; son Eric R. Nelson wife Rene' Wyatt and Ruthie of Smyrna GA. She is also survived by many nieces nephews cousins extended family and a host of friends. She was predeceased by her parents a sister Ruth Bryson Thackston and three brothers Joseph R. Bryson MD. William J. Bryson and F. David Bryson. Memorial services will be held on Friday April 29th at 2:00 pm at the First United Methodist Church Ormond Beach.
