Juanita Nelson (aka Nita & Grandma Harlin, 92, of Ormond Beach, FL (formerly Jacksonville & Freeport, FL) passed away peacefully on April 25 ^th , 2020 in the care of Stuart F. Meyer Hospice of Palm Coast, FL.  She was born in Gaskin, FL (near Darlington, FL) on August 2, 1927 to Arnie and Martha Pryor.  Nita grew up on her family's 440 acre farm that was established in 1890.  The Pryor Farm received the Century Pioneer Family Farm Award from the FL Dept. of Agriculture & Consumer Services, in 2011.  Nita left the country life and moved to the big City of Jacksonville, FL to join with her older sister Marcelle.  While in Jacksonville Nita met and married her first husband Daniel Bruce and had 2 children Wanda (Hucks) and Martha (Fordham).  Nita became a hairdresser and continued to live in Jacksonville, FL along with her sisters. In 1974 Juanita married the love of her life Harlin Nelson where they eventually settled off of Black Creek Road in Freeport, FL.  Nita moved to Ormond Beach around 2000 to be closer to family.  She loved to shop and shopped daily at the Volusia Mall until about 4 years ago when she stopped driving. Her favorite stores were Dillard's and Macy's and later Talbots where she was known on a first named basis.   She loved to wear Ralph Lauren from head toe along with her Coach shoes and glasses. She is preceded in death by her parents Arnie & Martha Pryor, her sisters Marcelle Suggs (Clarence), Lorene Pryor, her brother Arnie (Junior) Pryor  and her husband of over 30 years Harlin Nelson.  She is survived by her daughters Wanda Hucks & Martha Fordham (Mike), 4 grandchildren Michelle Lampro (Dan), Travis Hucks (Tonya),  Denise Fordham (David), Tracy Church (Jerry) and 10 great grandchildren Kyleigh, David, Kathryn, Ivy, twins Wade & Wyatt, Shaina, twins Summer & Travis, Riley and great great grandchild Reagan and sister in law Elsie Pryor along with many nieces and nephews.  Juanita told everyone she knew that she did not want a funeral; that she preached her funeral while she was alive.   She will be buried in the Jacksonville National Cemetery alongside her husband later this week.  A  Celebration of Life will be celebrated with close family in the near future.  In lieu of flowers please make a contribution to your favorite charity.
