BIGGERSTAFF JUANITA PENN - It is with deep sadness I announce the passing of my Mother Juanita Penn Biggerstaff 80 South Daytona FL who moved to Heaven on Friday October 24 2008.
A celebration of life service will be held Wednesday October 29th 2008 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Lohman Funeral Home Port Orange with Pastor Thomas Finken of Victorious Life Church officiating. Friends are kindly invited to attend and will be received by the family one hour prior to the service. Internment will follow at Lohman Daytona Memorial Park.
Mrs. Biggerstaff was born in Lexington Kentucky and moved to Florida in 1964 from Bunker Hill Air Force Base Peru Indiana after her husband's retirement from the United States Air Force. She had been a resident of South Daytona for 36 years. Mrs. Biggerstaff was a retired secretary having worked at the Pentagon for the United States Air Force where she received a commendation from Major General Truman H. Landon for her work which required Top Secret and Metric security clearances. She also had worked for the United States Census Bureau in Washington D.C. the Brevard County Health Department and as Administrative Secretary for the Emergency Department at Halifax Medical Center until 1976. She was a lifetime member of the South Daytona Citizens Alert Council former member of the Council's C.B. Patrol and while she was able attended Victorious Life Church Port Orange.
Mrs. Biggerstaff was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years Nick and is survived by their daughter and son-in-law Diana and Jeff Langton Port Orange FL. Mrs. Biggerstaff had expressed a sincere desire that any memorial donations be made in her name to the Victorious Life Church Building Fund P.O. Box 291075 Port Orange FL 32129 or to the Halifax Humane Society of Daytona Beach.
Mrs. Biggerstaff's legacy according to her daughter was that of being one of God's stubborn children who loved to laugh and make others laugh who was easily touched with compassion who loved deeply and wanted to help both her fellow mankind and animals who's Faith was quiet while sincere who strove to do what was true and right and who held onto the Gift of Life with all that she had.
