Juan Garcia, 82, of Orange City, Florida, passed away on October 24, 2026.
Juan lived a life defined by devotion to his family, hard work, and bringing people together.
Born in Aguas Buenas, Puerto Rico, Juan lived a life defined by devotion to his family, hard work, and bringing people together. As a young man, he met the love of his life, Maria M. Cabrera, and the two quickly fell in love. Together they built a beautiful life and would have celebrated 54 years of marriage this November.
Juan dedicated much of his career to serving others through his work. He was employed by Coca-Cola for 25 years before beginning a second career with the Connecticut Department of Transportation, where he worked for 20 years until his retirement. After many years in Bridgeport, Connecticut, Juan and Maria relocated to Deltona, Florida, in August 2009. Three years ago, they made their home in Orange City.
Juan found joy in life's simple pleasures. He loved gardening, spending time playing dominos with family and friends, and cheering on his beloved New York Yankees. More than anything, however, his greatest passion was his family. He treasured every opportunity to gather loved ones together, creating countless memories filled with laughter, conversation, and love.
He was preceded in death by his siblings, Mercedes Cruz, Maria Perez, Eugene Garcia, and Angel Luis Garcia.
Together they built a beautiful life and would have celebrated 54 years of marriage this November.
Juan leaves behind to cherish his memory his beloved wife, Maria Garcia; son, Johnny Garcia of Orange City; daughter, Madeline Garcia of Orange City; brothers, Carmelo (Sixta) Garcia of Trumbull, Connecticut, Jorge Garcia of Bridgeport, Connecticut, and Jose “Toño” (Jenny) Garcia of Bronson, Florida; sisters, Angelina (Lynn) Diaz of Chicago, Illinois, and Rosa Torres of Puerto Rico; granddaughter, Meilani Negron of Orange City; along with many extended family members and dear friends whose lives were blessed by his love and kindness.
Family and friends are invited to gather for a viewing on Thursday, October 29, from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM in the funeral home chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at St. Clare Catholic Church in Deltona (time pending). Interment will follow at DeLand Memorial Gardens.
Juan's legacy of love, family, and friendship will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Condolences, memories, and photos may be shared in the guest book.
