In Loving Memory of Joyce Marilyn Ruman
September 24, 1940 – July 7, 2026
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Joyce Marilyn Ruman, who departed this life on July 7, 2026, at the age of 85. Joyce was the heart of her family and the light of their world. Her unconditional love, quiet strength, and generous spirit touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. While her absence leaves an immeasurable void, the love she shared and the memories she created will live on forever.
Joyce was born on September 24, 1940, in Brant, Michigan, to Edgar and Hazel Gotham. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents; her sister, Joan Eaves; her brother, Charles Gotham; her son, Stanley (Jimmy) Bernard; and her granddaughter, Jennifer Turner.
She is lovingly survived by her devoted husband, Sedoy "Dory" Ruman, whose love and companionship blessed their years together. Joyce leaves behind her cherished children: Vickie (Bob) Hill, Marilyn (Duane) Moody, Sherri (Eric) Wyman, Jeff (Tina Pearson) Good, Tammy (Vicky Whatley) Good, and Virginia (Jimmy) Bernard. Joyce also leaves behind a sister, Sharon (Ronnie) Trogen. She was a proud mom, grandma, great-grandma, aunt, and friend whose kindness and love knew no bounds. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family, celebrating their accomplishments, and simply being together.
Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing that Joyce's legacy lives on through the family she loved so deeply and the countless lives she touched. Her kindness, compassion, and enduring love will continue to inspire all who knew her.
Joyce Marilyn Ruman will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always remembered. While she may no longer walk beside us, she will remain forever in our hearts.
A Visitation will be held from 10 AM to 11 AM, followed by an 11 AM Funeral Service on Saturday, July 11th, 2026, at Lohman Funeral Home Daytona, 1423 Bellevue Ave, Daytona Beach, FL 32114, 386-267-1100. Burial will immediately follow at 12 PM at Daytona Memorial Park, 1425 Bellevue Ave, Daytona Beach, FL 32114.
