Josephine Strong , age 80, passed away on Saturday November 10, 2018 at the Ponce Therapy Care center in St. Augustine, Florida. Josie was born on March 31, 1938 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Joseph and Michealine Coizza. She married the love of her life, James G. Strong, on May 27, 1956. They had 3 children Lisa Jo (Carlin) Anderson, James (Sherri) Strong, and Michele (Paul) Ripish; she is also survived by her grandchildren James and Sara, and a great granddaughter Mia. She was preceded in death by her sister Antoinette Weaver and her brother Eugene Coizza.

Josie was very proud of her New York Italian Catholic heritage, she grew up in Brooklyn, NY and then moved to New Jersey to raise her family. She then retired to Palm Cost Florida after working for Prudential Insurance Company for more than 25 years. Josie loved playing Bingo, Painting Ceramics, Embroidery, Going to Atlantic City and Cruising the Caribbean. She also loved taking care of everyone by opening her heart and home to many friends who then became her "adopted family".

Josie was devoted to her family and beloved by many. She will be forever remembered for her warm beautiful smile, abundant meals and entertaining everyone at the dinner table.
Memorial donations may be made in Josephine's honor to the Alzheimer's Association ( alz.org ).

A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday November 27, 2018 in the Chapel at Lohman Funeral Home Palm Coast, 220 Palm Coast Parkway SW, Palm Coast, FL 32137.  A Graveside Service will be held at 2:30pm also on Tuesday November 27, 2018 at Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Road, Jacksonville, Florida 32218.
