Josephine B Stankiewicz

The family of Josephine B. Stankiewicz 81 regretfully announces her death on Wednesday September 6 2008. There will be a Memorial Service to be held at the Colonial Colony South Lounge onOctober 1 2008 at 3 p.m. to celebrate her life. All are invited to attend the service. She is survived by her four sons; two daughters; two grandchildren;and one great-grandchild. Three sons live locally in Volusia & Flagler Counties while one works in Hangzhou China. One daughter lives in East Stroudsburg PA while the other daughter resides in Phoenix AZ with the grandchildren. Josephine was born in Brooklyn NY in 1927 where she attended school at St Rose of Lima. She worked briefly on Wall Street before marrying Joseph Stankwieicz and moving to Port Jervis NY; Kenosha Wisconsin and eventually East Stroudsburg PA. In Pennsylvania she co-owned and co-operated ""Stanky's Hotel a popular local watering hole. She also worked at Wyckoff's Department store and she was an""Intermittent Interviewer"" at the local Unemployment office in Easton PA. She moved to Daytona Beach FL in 1986 where she settled into Colonial Colony South off Beville Road where she was HomeOwner's President for many years. She taught dance class at several local venues and was the director of the Annual Variety Show. She enjoyed an active if sometimes difficult life. Josephine will be remembered for unique vitality and her constant gentle encouragement through life's turbulences. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Volusia/Flagler 3800 Woodbriar Trail Port Orange FL 32129.
