Josephine Merrithew 89 of Port Orange Florida passed away peacefully on Sunday September 23 2012. A funeral will be conducted on Thursday 4:00pm September 27 2012 at the chapel of Lohman Funeral Home Port Orange and visitation will also be on Thursday from 1-4pm. Burial will be in Maine next week. Josephine was well known for her sense of humor. Her hobbies were reading books traveling and volunteering at different clubs around Port Orange. She was a member of the Eastern Star VFW auxiliary Elks club Halifax Hospital Auxiliary. She was a member of the first United Church of Port Orange and also loved to volunteer in the thrift store at the church. Josephine and her Husband Milton who passed away in 1996 moved down to Port Orange in 1977 from Maine. She is predeceased by her loving Husband Milton of 54 years and one son Robert Merrithew and is survived by her two Loving children: Jeanne Tolley of Daytona Beach and Jerry (Cindi) Merrithew of Orlando Fl. three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
