Josephine Mancuso, 86, of Daytona Beach Shores, passed away peacefully at home on June 6, 2021 surrounded by friends and family and was preceded in death by her father Anthony Mancuso of Italy and mother, Ida Mancuso of Germany.
Born and raised in the Catskills Mountains- Josie had a passion to become a nurse. Initially, she began her career as a medical-surgical nurse at Jacoby Hospital in New York City in the 1970's. Here is where she met nursing colleague- Rosarie Marangos married to Peter Marangos; and a lifelong family friendship was established; including relocation to Daytona Beach Shores with the Marangos Family & her parents. Josephine, continued her nursing career in Florida at Halifax Hospital and retired after 20 years from the former Humana Hospital as Nursing Supervisor prior to be being a registered nurse for 45 years. Upon retirement she continued her career volunteering as a school nurse for Volusia County Public Schools, the Daytona Beach Shores Senior Center, and the Halifax Hospice in Port Orange.
Josie had a sharp wit, a love of travel & cruising around the globe, her infamous casino runs, beloved recipes, and endless memories keep Josie warm in our hearts and forever present.

Survived by her cousin Frances Peters of Jackson, NJ. She also was a beloved confidant to her nieces and nephews; Kimberly Mazauskas of Jupiter, Florida/ Karen Crisafi of Brick, New Jersey/Kathleen Nieves of Rahway, New Jersey/ Kristine Faiella of Tinton Falls, New Jersey/ Nicolas and Cindy Berdeguez of Port Orange/ Steven Berdeguez and Irene Todora, Ormond Beach/ James and Elizabeth Berdeguez of San Diego, California.


A Memorial Service and reception will be held on Saturday, October 16th, 1:00 pm at the Lohman Funeral Home -Daytona Beach.
