Joseph M. Quinn of Ormond Beach Florida peacefully left his family and friends to be with his Lord on Sunday April 21 2013 while at home surrounded by his loved ones. He was born in New York City and was the son of the late Margaret and Harry Quinn. Joe was predeceased by his brothers John James and Patrick.
Joe met Terry when she was 16 years old. She was the love of his life. They recently celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary. Left to honor his memory are his wife Terry and their sons Joseph Jr. and his wife Elaine of Virginia Beach Virginia Eric and his wife Barb of Ponte Vedra Beach Florida as well as his four grandchildren Joey III Natalie Eric Jr. and Lauren. Joe also leaves many friends and neighbors with whom he truly had a heartfelt connection and love.
In 1971 Joe moved his family from New York where they made their new home in Ormond Beach and at St. Brendan Catholic Church. Joe was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #13018 and Bishop Thomas J. Grady Fourth Degree Council #2901.
Joe was Sales Manager at the Halifax Reporter newspaper and Account Executive for radio stations WROD and I-100. In 1991 Joe and Terry bought the Greenbriar gift shop in Ormond Beach where they worked together every day until they retired.
Joe was past President of Civitan and Vice President of Seabreeze H.S. Band Parents and an officer of AARP. He also served on the Board of Directors of Volusia Association for Retarded Citizens; Director of Daytona Beach Advertising Federation; and Director of Volusia-Flagler Heart Association.
Joe's zest for life was infectious. He loved music movies Broadway shows boating and traveling and cruising with Terry and their family and friends.
The family will receive friends on Friday April 26 from 6 to 8 PM at St. Brendan Catholic Church 1000 Ocean Shore Blvd (A1A) Ormond Beach. A Funeral Mass to celebrate Joe's life will be held on Saturday April 27 at 11 AM also at St. Brendan's. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Knights of Columbus Council #13018 or St Brendan church 1000 Ocean Shore Blvd Ormond Beach FL 32176. Lohman's Funeral Home Ormond Beach is assisting the family with arrangements.
