A Funeral Mass for Joseph F. Miller 88 of Port Orange who passed away with his family by his side on July 14 2007 will be held at 8:30 am Wednesday July 18 2007 at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church with Reverend Sante Reale officiating. Interment will follow in Florida National Cemetery at 12:30 pm. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 pm Tuesday at the Port Orange Chapel of Lohman Funeral Homes. Joseph was born on December 10 1918 to the late Frank and Stella Miller in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. In August 1940 Joseph enlisted in the U. S. Army and worked as a mechanic during WWII until being honorably discharged five years later. Soon after his military career ended he met and married his lifelong sweetheart Mary. Joseph was employed by H. J. Heinz Company where he remained a faithful employee until his retirement. Although known for his hard work and dedication Joseph's greatest passion in life was for his family who will miss him deeply. Joseph leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 61 years Mary; son Charles Miller; daughter Nancy Gunzelman; sons Mark Miller and Dr. Michael Miller; brother Lawrence Miller; sister Betty Zuzak; and eight grandchildren Matthew Joseph Benjamin Michael Mary Christine Patrick and Elliot. He was preceded in death by his eldest son David Miller.
