Joseph Vincenzo Cavuoti age 97 went home to be with God on June 13 2010 at Hospice of the Palm Beaches while visiting his daughter. Mr. Cavuoti had been living in Palatka with his son and daughter-in-law. A 10:30 viewing followed by an 11:00 Service in his honor will be held Saturday June 19 2010 at the Daytona Chapel of the Lohman Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Daytona Memorial Park.

Papa Joe was 14 years old when he arrived at Ellis Island from his home in Pietrapertosa in Province of Potenza in Italy. He enjoyed sharing stories of his childhood days in Pietrapertosa with his children and grandchildren.
While going to school in Italy Papa Joe learned the art of tailoring. With this skill he was able to earn a living and support a family after he came to America. He was the owner of his own cleaning furrier and tailoring business Expert Tailoring in Queens New York before moving his family to Daytona Beach Florida in 1960. Papa Joe loved the beach crabbing and fishing. His family lovingly remembers the years when he and his wife Josephine "Mama Jo" would ride up and down the beach in Daytona in his little red sports car while he wore his "Captain's Cap."
Joseph was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years Josephine Cavuoti and a granddaughter Christine Joelle Palumbo.
He leaves behind a son; Robert (Janet) Cavuoti; 2 daughters: Marilyn Palumbo and Lorraine (Steve) Brunner; 2 grandchildren: Matthew Cavuoti and Lisa (David) Tilney; and one great grandchild Rose Christine Tilney.
