Joseph Maybank Bolger Jr. born February 5 1924 and passed away September 9 2011 at the age of 87. Visitation will be held on Wednesday September 14 2011 from 12:00 P.M to 1:00 P.M with a 1:00 P.M funeral service at Lohman Funeral Home Daytona. Burial is to follow the services at Daytona Memorial Park. Joseph was born in Kinston North Carolina. Son of Joseph Maybank Bolger Sr. and Elizabeth Roberts Bolger. Married to Dorothy Pumphrey Bolger on December 15 1945. He is survived by his three daughters; Barbara (Keith) Wigle Joanne (Lavon) Lowery and Donna (Allen) Rozier. Joseph had eight grandchildren Laura Hilsenbeck Jean Macmichael Jim Wigle Elizabeth Wigle Tracy Ware Michael Ware Robin Banks Joelle Bartholomew. Joseph also had sixteen great-grandchildren E.J. Hilsenbeck Alex Wigle Sarah Wigle Lyndsey Macmichael Rachel MacMichael Danielle MacMichael Garrett MacMichael Tanner Banks Rhett Banks Jackson Bartholomew Noelle Bartholomew Caleb Bartholomew Austin Ware Holton Cowan Lauren Ware Allison Ware. Joseph was a decorated World War II Marine 4th Division who fought in the Pacific Theater. He received a Purple Heart at the Battle of Iwo Jima and earned a Bronze Star at the Battle of Saipan where he displayed extraordinary bravery. Joseph moved to Daytona as a young child. He graduated from Mainland High School and immediately join the Marines to fight overseas. He married Dorothy Pumphrey after the war and they shared 48 years together before Dorothy passed away in 1993. He was employed with The United States Postal Service special delivery department for over 30 years. He loved fishing and Nascar he also delighted in his Grandchildren.
