Obituary

he built a life centered on his greatest love, his family

José Antonio Díaz Quiles was born on February 6, 1944, in Puerto Rico. Through hard work, determination, and perseverance, he built a life centered on his greatest love, his family.

He later made New York his home, where he worked for many years and where he and his wife raised their family. Although his formal education ended after the second grade, he believed in the value of honest work and providing for those he loved. Through determination and hard work, he built a successful life and gave his family opportunities he never had.

In 1997, José fulfilled one of his lifelong dreams when he and his wife moved to Florida and purchased the home he would cherish for nearly 30 years. The day they received the keys; he was filled with joy. He turned up the music and danced through every room of the house, celebrating the place that would become his sanctuary and the home he loved so dearly.

José will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, beloved family member, and loyal friend. He had a kind heart, quiet strength, and a deep love for the people closest to him. He found happiness in life’s simple moments and treasured the time he spent with those he loved.

In his later years, he faced Alzheimer’s disease with courage. While the illness changed many things, it never changed the love his family had for him. They choose to remember the man he was throughout his life, his smile, his determination, his warmth, and the joy he brought to others.

José passed away peacefully on July 27, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. His legacy lives on through the values he instilled, the memories he created, and the love that will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

He will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever in our hearts.
