John Wesley Ward 81 passed away in a motorcycle accident July 10 2013. He was born in Morganton N.C. February 18 1932 to Wilburn and Vonnie Ward. John moved his family from Greensboro N.C. to Holly Hill 54 years ago to work with his brother Wayne building Tip Top Printing. Having been a motorcycle enthusiast since his youth he took his vacation each year during Bike Week to work for the legendary Joe Robison. After John retired from the printing business he worked full time for Robison repairing motorcycles and building custom winning roadrace bikes for 30 years.
After he retired from Robison to hang out with his wife Audrey sitting and holding hands on their couch she allowed him to pursue his hobby of rebuilding Vintage motorcycles and riding weekly with the Retreads a local motorcycle club.
John was preceded in death by his parents 2 brothers 2 sisters and his sons: Ronnie and Tim Ward. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years Audrey and many nieces and nephews. Celebration of Life will be held at Central Baptist Church 152 Fairview Ave. Daytona Beach Florida 32114 386.255.2588 at 6 p.m. on Wednesday July 17 2013. His wife request no flowers but prefers memorial donations to a charity of your choice.
