Funeral Service for John Vega Jr. age 76 who passed away Friday July 30th 2004 at his home will be Tuesday August3rd at 10:30 AM at Santa Maria Del Mar Catholic Church Flagler Beach. His family will receive friends from 6:00 till 8:00 PM Monday at the Palm Coast Funeral Home 220 Palm Coast Pkwy
Mr Vega was born in Elizabeth NJ and moved to this area from Acton Mass 10 years ago. He was a graduate of the Stevens Institute of Technolgy in Hoboken NJ where he was a member of the Sigma Nu Fraternity.. Mr. Vega was a mechanical engineer for the Raytheon Co. for 30 years before retiring in 1992. He was a volunteer at RSVP and was the past president of the governing board and a volunteer at the Flagler Auditorium. He enjoyed boating fishing flying kites spending time with his family and was very proud to be part of the space program. He was predeceased by his daughter Barbara Jeanne.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years Patti and their 3 children: John III and his wife Liz of Camarillo Ca. Elizabeth Wittman and her husband Michael of Hopkinton Mass. and Donna Vega of Los angeles. Also surviving is 1 brother J. William Vega of Durango Colorado and 3 grandchildren Ashley Katelynn and J.T.
