John Tartis age 68 of Ormond Beach passed away December 24 2008 after a brief illness. A Memorial Service will be held 6:00pm Tuesday December 30 2008 at Lohman Funeral Home Ormond Beach. Mr Tartis served his military time in the Army. He moved here in 1988 from Peabody MA. After John's retirement as a Tool & Dye Machinist he opened four convenience stores then sold in 1988 and moved to Florida where he later started his seafood restaurants. John enjoyed watching TV especially the History channel traveling on ocean cruises cooking gardening playing chess spending time with his granddaughter family & his dog "Nikki". He was a member of the Moose Lodge Ormond Beach. John is survived by his son John Charles Tartis Jr of Peterborough NH; daughter Holly Berthiaume of Orlando FL; sisters Pearl Tibbetts of Saugus MA Phyllis Delvental of Tewksbury MA & Jessie Meredith of Danvers MA; 4 grandchildren Jamie & Kevin Tartis both of Peabody MA Ashley Tartis of Warner NH & Kaitlyn Joan Berthiaume of Orlando FL; 1 great granddaughter; & loving partner Paula Rust of Ormond Beach. He is preceded in death by his wife Joan in 2004.
