John Joseph Smarge ("Jeep") 89, of Palm Coast, FL went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 1, 2014. John and his wife Muriel were members of the First Baptist Church of Palm Coast, where he served as a deacon, sang in the choir and served on many other committees in the church.
John was a member of the Southern Baptist Convention and was elected chairman of the Trustees, the governing body for the Brotherhood Commission. During his life he was active in men's Christian work all over the nation.
John served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He attended NC State College and University Maryland Law School.
John enjoyed antique auto shows and deep sea fishing
John is survived by his wife of 67 years, Muriel; Children Jacquie, Jim and Jan; Grandchildren Allison, Janice and Cayla, and 3 Great Grandchildren.
Funeral Service will be held in the chapel of the Lohman's Funeral home in Palm Coast, Tuesday, October 7th 2014 at 11:00 am. Arrangements are under the careful direction of Lohman Funeral Home Palm Coast.
