John Allen Smalbein 49 of Port Orange Passed away Thursday May24 2012. A Celebration of John's life will on Thursday May31 2012 6pm at the Lohman Funeral Home Port Orange. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
John was born on July 17 1962 in Lakeland Fl.. and spent most of his life in Port Orange Rio de Janiero Brazil. He went through local schools and graduated from Spruce Creek. John had a B.S. in Business from St. Johns University in N.Y. John also attended Nova law school in Davie Fl. and also loved teaching The Holy Hill Middle School "Pass Program". The students still would contact John. He spent ten years in Brazil studying and teaching martial arts specializing in Gracie Jiu Jitsu. He was preceded in death by his Grandmother Virginia Howard and his Father Paul W Smalbein. He is survived by his loving Mother Dorothy Smalbein and step sister Megan Herring and his beloved dog Bobi.
