John George Secora, of Ormond Beach, Florida passed away peacefully on March 18 ^th , 2021 at 10:45am.

John was born in 1941 in Nyack, NY to John George Secora Jr and Helen Crombie. John was very close to his stepfather, William Boorom, who was an instrumental figure throughout his life.  He grew up and attended school in Spring Valley, NY and attended Hartwick College in Oneonta, NY. He served in the U.S. Army and was a business professional in the hospitality management industry for 40+ years. His service in the Army took him to Fort Smith, Arkansas where he was stationed at Fort Chaffee. Following his honorable discharge, he spent significant time in Harrison, AR; Branson, MO; Helen, GA; and Ormond Beach, FL where he was a member of Tomoka Christian Church.

An avid outdoorsman, John enjoyed spending his time in the wilderness camping, fishing, hiking, and sitting around the campfire. He had a love of gardening, sports, travel, and enjoyed making delicious food.  John was a man of tremendous faith which he displayed his entire life. He led by example and touched countless lives through his reflection of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

John's survivors include his wife of 32 years, Linda Storm Secora of Ormond Beach, his son Shawn Secora of Fayetteville, AR, and his brother, Fred (Regina, Eric, Kevin) Boorom of Sloatsburg, NY, his stepchildren Stephanie (Mark) Edwards (Ormond Beach), Angela Stephens (Ormond Beach), Cynthia (Eric) Fisher (Ormond Beach), and Craig Anderson (Emily) (Shawnee, KS) Additionally, John is survived by 15 grandchildren and one great grandchild, David Secora, Emily Edwards, Aubrey Edwards, Anna Grace Edwards, Brice Baker, Drew Baker, Maggie Bower, Mya Molina, Seth Brigham, Jayden Brigham, Sami Brigham, Elijah Stephens, Kayeden Anderson, Ivy Lynn Anderson, Blake Anderson, and Rory Baker.

A private service of remembrance was held on March 21 in Ormond Beach. Inurnment will be held at a later date at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville, Missouri.
