John Carroll Ryan age 84 of Deland formerly of Miami passed away quietly in his home on Wednesday August 03 2011. A 12:00 gathering followed by a 1:00 service will be held Today Friday August 5 2011 at the Deland Chapel of the Lohman Funeral Home. Interment will be at Florida National Cemetery Jacksonville.
John was born in Stearns Kentucky to John and Betty Ryan. He was a US Army Air Corp Veteran and proud graduate of Eastern Kentucky University with a Masters in Education. He dedicated his talents as an Industrial Arts teacher at Miami Palmetto High School and was a member of The American Legion Lodge 0400. He was a moral intelligent man of integrity firm in his convictions who enjoyed working crossword puzzles and gardening but mostly competing in billiards at the game of "golf" with his friends at Uncle Waldo's Billiards in Daytona Beach.

He is survived by 3 children: Anthony Ryan Itta Bena MS Debi Ryan Tampa FL and Cindy Ryan Jacksonville FL 3 grandchildren; Rob Pate Christopher Seng and Michelle Johns and 3 ½ great granddaughters.
