John "Jack" Risley Cushing 86 passed at Florida Lutheran August 3 2012 with his family at his side. A Funeral Mass for Jack will be held at 10:00AM on Friday August 10 2012 at St. Peter Catholic Church 359 W. New York Ave. DeLand. Interment to follow the funeral Mass at DeLand Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Thursday August 9 2012 from 5:00PM to 8:00PM in the chapel of Lohman Funeral Home DeLand 935 E. New York Ave. DeLand Fl. A Catholic Prayer Service will be held at 7:00 PM at the funeral home Thursday night. Mr. Cushing was born August 3 1926 in Prospect Park Pennsylvania . He served in the US Navy in WWII and worked as a firefighter in Philadelphia PA. Jack loved Dancing Swimming and Cookouts with his Family. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Sons of the American Revolution. Surviving him in death are his son Tom Cushing and daughters Frances Saylor and Juanita Valentine. Jack was blessed with four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
