John Richard Williams , 60, of Ormond Beach, FL, passed away on April 28th, 2022.
John was born on April 30th, 1961, to Coran Liston Williams and Rose Bayer Williams in Washington, D.C. After graduating from Spruce Creek High School in 1979, he attended Daytona Beach Community College.
In 1982, John started his devoted career at Florida East Coast Railway as a yard clerk. Over the course of 38 years, John moved up from yard clerk, became a dispatcher, entered management, and then worked his way up to the Assistant Vice President of System Operations. Working for Florida East Coast Railway was more than just a career for John. He had always been fascinated with the railroad and its history. John truly enjoyed his career, and he took great pride in being a part of the company. John also owned Showcase Lawn and Garden- a complete lawn service in which he successfully ran for 20 years, with the assistance of his son, Jonathan.
When John wasn't working, he could be found fishing in his father's 1958 antique boat, weightlifting at the gym, or cooking/grilling. John also had a passion for speed- owning a Porsche 911 Turbo and a Hayabusa, Suzuki. John was a loving father and grandfather. He enjoyed spending his time with his children. He has left them with wonderful memories of fishing, go carting and dirt biking together, as well as their family camping trips to Alexander springs, and yearly family vacations to Helen, GA. John also enjoyed getting to know his newly found brother-Robert, in which he discovered that they share many of the same interests.
John was predeceased by his parents, Coran Williams and Rose Williams. He is survived by his son, Jonathan; his daughter, Miranda; his granddaughter, Harbor; his brother, Robert; and his son-in-law, Chase.
