John William Quesal, 94, of Ormond Beach, died August 27, 2016. He was born in Yonkers, New York on March 13, 1922 to John Anthony and Madeline Metz Quesal. He married Anne Matland, who preceded him in death. He later married Phyllis Wallace, who preceded him in death. He also was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Louis Frank Quesal.
He served in the Army Motor Corps in WWII, in North Africa, France, and the Philippines. He retired as an Industrial Engineer from Otis Elevator Company in 1984 after 43 years of service. He loved computers, gadgets, and toys of all kinds.
He is survived by son John V. (Linda) of Fountain Hills, Arizona; daughter Joan (Eddie) Bass of Ormond Beach; son Robert (Donna) of Macomb, Illinois; four grandchildren and one great grandson. He is also survived by his cat, Yum Yum, who now resides in Austin, Texas with his granddaughter.
Visitation will be Thursday, September 1, 2016 from 2:00 - 4:00 PM at Lohman Funeral Home Ormond, 733 West Granada Boulevard, Ormond Beach. Graveside services are planned on Friday, September 2, 2106, at 2:00 p.m., at Daytona Memorial Park, 1425 Bellevue Avenue, Daytona Beach, in the Garden of Glory near the Veterans' Memorial.
