John M. Paun age 84 of Ponce Inlet passed away suddenly on Saturday June 4 2011. A 5:00 visitation until the 7:00 funeral service in his honor will be held on Thursday June 9 2011 at the Port Orange Chapel of the Lohman Funeral Homes. Interment will follow on Friday at Florida National Cemetery Bushnell.

John was born the youngest of six children in Ely Minnesota to Steve and Rose Paun He was a proud US Army veteran of WWII and dedicated his life's work as a Expediter for LTV Steel Company near Chicago Illinois. He was a gentle loving soul with great respect for all life he enjoyed car shows the Florida beaches and his friendly poker club. In his early years he was an active and founding member of the VFW local 3564 and the United Steel Workers Union; after retiring to Florida 23 years ago became a member of the Port Orange VFW and American Legion. John was preceded in death by his parents and five siblings and he leaves behind to cherish his memory his broken hearted wife of 60 years; Margaret Paun and several nieces nephews and loving friends.
