John B. Parrish, 85, a resident of Port Orange, Florida, passed away at his home on Friday September 7 ^th . Born and raised in Loughman, Florida to James and Rebecca Parrish, John was a lifelong Floridian who loved the outdoors and had a fondness for gardening and tractors.  He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and worked at Halifax Medical Center for over 30 years before his retirement in 1995. John was predeceased by his parents and his sister, Myrtle Lee Rowe. He leaves behind his loving wife of 60 years, Nelene, his son Wayne Parrish of Port Orange, his daughter Janet Meredith of Ponte Vedra Beach, his grandson Arian Meredith (Trevinia) of Orlando, and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Services for John will be held on Wednesday, September 12th at 11 a.m. at Lohman Funeral Home Daytona, the family will begin receiving friends at 9:30 am.
