John K. Michel 79 of Port Orange FL died suddenly on August 2nd 2009 at Halifax Medical Center in Port Orange. Devoted Husband of 57 years to Marian Michel (nee) Svet loving father of Kevin of Los Angeles CA Karen of Huntington NY and John of Glenwood Springs CO. Loving brother- in -law of Josephine Abate and Diane Mole. Also survived by nieces Debbie Donna Denise and nephew Rich. John attended Manhattan College Riverdale New York.
He interrupted his studies to serve in the U. S. Army (1951-1953) as Chief Lab Technician 40th division M.A.S.H Korea. John Graduated (B.B.A) Pace University New York; graduate studies Columbia University Graduate School of Architecture. He was a lighting engineer gourmet cook loved classical music going to concerts scrabble crossword puzzles; he was a docent at the Museum of Arts and Science in Daytona Beach Volunteer at Hum teaching summer bible study and the Alpha program. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Daytona Beach and the Museum of Arts and Sciences Daytona Beach. Vitiation will be held on Wednesday August 5th at Lohman Funeral Home Port Orange from 5pm- 8pm. Funeral services will be held at St Mary's Episcopal Church Daytona Beach Thursday August 6th at 2pm with Fathers Servillo and Taylor participating. He will be sorely missed by family and friends.
