Obituary

John H. McNeil 85 of Ormond Beach FL passed away on April 23 2010 after a long illness. He was born April 25 1924 in Philadelphia NY. For the majority of his life he operated two farms (over 350 acres) where he raised Arabian and Quarter horses. His main objective was to collect and sell the urine from pregnant mares to pharmaceutical companies who used it to manufacture Premarin a common drug prescribed for menopausal women. He also worked as a residential carpenter for many years. During the late 80's he retired and relocated to Florida with his late wife Mary. In 1995 he met his adoring wife Esther at a dance at the Senior Center in Ormond Beach and they married soon thereafter. John was an avid reader as well as a talented tennis player. He was a member of the Moose Lodge in Ormond Beach as well as the Eagles Lodge in both Ormond and Port Orange. He will be remembered for his kind loving heart and will be dearly missed. John is survived by his wife of 14 years Esther his sister Jean McNeil of New Smyrna Beach; five children and many grandchildren as well as great-grandchildren. Services will be held on Monday May 10th at 1:30 pm at the Ormond Beach Senior Center 351 Andrews Street Ormond Beach FL.
