John "Jay" McLaverty, 61, of Daytona Beach passed away suddenly on February 20, 2014. A Memorial Service in his honor will be held Saturday, March 8, 2014 at Lohman Funeral Home Ormond. Family will welcome friends at 10:30am, with Service beginning at 11:00am.

Jay was born in Philadelphia, PA and grew up in Cinnaminson, NJ. Jay married Debbie Ritting and they raised their family in Gloucester Township, NJ.

Jay will be remembered as a true Philadelphia Eagles and Florida Gators fan. He was a baseball coach for over 20 years. Jay and Debbie were members of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles in Ormond Beach.

Jay is survived by his loving wife Debbie McLaverty of Daytona Beach; by his sons Jason McLaverty of Jensen Beach, FL and Kevin McLaverty (Michele) of Lafayette, CA; by his grandchildren: Jace, Alexis, Chloe, Carlee, Bryce, and Brody; by his siblings: Pat (Joe), Brian (Pam), Debora (Joe), Dennis (Brenda), and Michele (Rob); and by many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents John and Dolores. Arrangements are under the careful direction of Lohman Funeral Home Ormond.
