John A. Mancini 86 of Port Orange passed away October10 2012. John was born on March 12 1926 in Providence R.I. to the late Giovanni and Contilia (Pontarelli) Mancini. There will be a Funeral Mass will be conducted on Friday October 19 2012 8:30 A.M. at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church in Port Orange. He was a retired Business Agent for the Local 251in Providence R.I. John had been a resident of Port Orange for thirty three years and had formed many friendships at his church Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church.
John was a WWII veteran for the U.S. Navy. He was aboard the USS Missouri and observed the signing of the Japanese surrender to the allies. He was a member of the American Legion the Elks and VFW. He is predeceased by : Lisa Amaral Anna Buonaiuto Pasqualina Charbonneau and Petrina Chiaverini. John is survived by his loving wife Judith (Manni) Mancini; Three children: Beverly (Mancini) Sousa Jane (Mancini) Bove and John Mancini; One sister Livia (Mancini) Forte; 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In Lieu of flowers the family is asking for donations be made to: Halifax Health Hospice of Volusia/Flagler.
