John Leo Mahoney Jr. 73 of Port Orange, quietly departed from this life on August 12, 2016 after a long illness. He was born in Portland Maine on September 29, 1942 the son of the late John and Elizabeth (Fullerton) Mahoney.
He attended schools in Portland, Maine and was a Army Veteran, after 30 years of dedicated service he retired from IBM in Poughkeepsie, New York
John and his wife Debra, moved to Florida 14 years ago to continue his passion for golfing and riding his Harley, he loved his "Boston Red Sox" being an avid sports fan and active member of the NRA. His Irish Setters were a great passion for John.
All his family and friends will remember him for his positive attitudeand his answer of "Super" to all questions asked.
John leaves behind his loving wife Debra, a blessed marriage of 32 years, also his sisters Barbara (late Tom) Thibodeau of Middle Grove, New York, and Maureen (Larry) Nortridge of Wisconsin. He also leaves behind several brother and sister in laws, nieces and nephews from his predeceased wife Sandra Herrick.
A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday August 16, 2016 at 5:00 PM from the Lohman Funeral Home 1201 Dunlawton Ave. Port Orange, including a gathering of family and friends from 3:00 PM till the time of the service.
