Obituary

John Komarczyk 87 of Port Orange Florida passed away peacefully on June 26 2011. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday June 30 2011 8:30am in Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church. The family will receive friends at the LOHMAN FUNERAL HOME PORT ORANGE on Wednesday from 5-7pm with a Vigil service at 6pm. He was born and lived in Passaic New Jersey and worked in the textile industry for 28 years. Then John retired to Port Orange Florida in 1988. As a child his family moved to Eastern Poland in 1932. The country was overrun by the Nazi and Soviet troops. In 1944 John was conscripted into the Soviet Army and was seriously wounded in battle in March of 1945. He returned to the United States in 1960 and started a life long quest to be recognized as a 'victim of circumstance' veteran by the American Veteran Administration. Beloved husband of 62 years to Halina (nee Erynk) loving father of Elizabeth and Michael of New Jersey and George and Zenon of California along with their spouses and six grandchildren: Phillip Julia and Emily of New Jersey and Loretta Lisa and Gregory of California.
