John P. Joplin 85, of Port Orange passed away peacefully on April 25th, after a long illness. He was born in Nitro, West Virginia on January 12, 1932 the son of the late Jesse and Elizabeth Chancey Joplin.

John served his country in the United States Navy for four years during the Korean War and was honorably discharged in 1959.

He worked as a dock man with McLean Trucking Company in Cincinnati Ohio, for 30 years and most recently as a security guard for 17 years with Delaware North (Greyhound Kennel) in Daytona Beach.

John is survived by his loving wife Barbara a blessed marriage of 57 years, two sons Roger and John David, his two grandchildren Robert and Kelsey, a brother Daniel of Arizona, and his son-in-law Dave, he was preceded in death by his daughter Terri Werner.

John enjoyed watching sports, playing poker and going on cruises.

Services with Military Honors will be Saturday April 29th at 1:00 PM from the Lohman Funeral Home 1201 Dunlawton Ave. Port Orange with a viewing for family and friends from 11:00 AM until the time of the service. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
