Obituary

John S. Johnson, Sr. ("Johnny"), 68, passed away on December 10, 2017. He was born on March 12, 1949 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Joseph and Catherine Johnson.

Johnny is survived by his best friend of 30 years, Ann, of which 20 were spent as his cherished wife; his sons: John (Lynn) and Kevin Johnson, daughters: Christine Nazworth (Trent) and Carrie DeGaetano, nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was blessed to be part of a large family and leaves behind seven beloved siblings: Joseph Johnson (Ima), Mary Ann Gahafer, Margaret "Tonce" Shouse (Paul), Catherine Canty (Bill), Rita Johnson, Jean Skaggs (Donnie), Laura Osborn; many nieces and nephews, extended family and lifelong friends whom he adored. He was predeceased by his brother, George Johnson.

Johnny was an exceptional athlete in his youth and for most of his life, graduating as a multi-sport varsity Letterman from DeSales High School in 1967. His work in the Transportation industry led him to Florida in 1980, then to Alexandria, VA and later Paramus, NJ where he met the love of his life, Ann C. Nicolosi.

A record blizzard brought him back to the beaches of Florida, where he and Annie celebrated life to the fullest. Johnny was easy to befriend and had a gift for making others feel included and important, which led to strong bonds with family and friends who are comforted, during this time, knowing his faith in God was strong and that we'll be reunited again in Heaven.

Family will receive loved ones on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at Lohman Funeral Home Ormond, 733 W.
