John P. (Jack) Hopes, 79, of Ormond Beach, passed away on March 20, 2017. Born on August 26, 1937 to the late Helen and William Hopes. A graduate of Mainland High School, class of 1956, served four years in the US Navy.
His life's vocation was banking; serving as Vice President at Security First Federal Savings and Loan. Active in the Lions club, YMCA, Indian Guides and Princess, Quarterback Club, Daytona Beach Jaycees serving on the committee to bring Embry Riddle to our community and was instrumental in forming the Ormond Beach Jaycees where he served as president; Warner Christian Academy Booster Club, Full Gospel Business Men's Association, Prison Ministry and various church ministries.
An avid golfer and fan of Gator football and basketball. Jack lived a full and complete life through his commitment to God's services, his family, friends and others. Jack is survived by his wife of 53 years Deanie Hopes, son Craig (Keri) Hopes, daughter Debra Hopes, granddaughter Amber, his sister Ome Titus, brother Olin (Peggy) Hopes, sister-in-laws and many loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Janie Hopes, Harriett Roger and Nita LeVere.
Friends and family will be received from 4:00-7:00 p.m.,Thursday March 23, 2017 and the service will conclude at 1:00 p.m. Friday March 24,2017 at Lohman Funeral Home Ormond. Internment will be held at Daytona Memorial Park with Military Honors. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association .
