John H. "Jack" Adams was born in Manchester England in 1920. He moved to the United States as a small child and became a naturalized citizen. He served honorably in the United States Army during WW II.

Jack was a real estate appraiser who earned the MAI and SRA designations during his career. He retired as a Senior Vice President of Security First Federal Savings and Loan Association in 1983 where he was in charge of the Appraisal Department. Jack was a long time member of both the Halifax River Yacht Club and the Oceanside Country Club. He and his wife Helen have enjoyed many occasions to entertain family and friends in their home.

Jack was predeceased earlier this year by his loving wife Helen Adams after 72 years of marriage. He is survived by his son Robert L. Adams (wife Ryan) and his daughter Jacqueline A. Boggs (husband Dr. William). He also is survived by seven grandchildren including John J. Adams Erin Adams Welch Ryan S. Adams Lauren Adams Buckmaster Kristin Boggs Allison Boggs Carpenter and Eric Jason Boggs His survivors also include eight great-grandchildren.

Services will be held privately at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to your favorite charity.
