It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of John E. Horton, a cherished husband, devoted son, and beloved friend to many. Born on December 27, 1955, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, John departed this world due to respiratory failure, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and craftsmanship that will forever be remembered. John was the treasured son of Walter and Elaine Pietrak, who, along with his loving wife of ten years, Lisa, survive him. His extended family, including cousins Charles, Elaine, Lenore Weinberger, Marie Rosenthal, Doris Swank and Ed Laudenslager, will also deeply feel his loss. A proud graduate of Lakota High School in 1972, John pursued his passion for woodworking and honed his skills to become a Master Cabinet Maker and Carpenter. His talents were not only a means of livelihood but a way to express his artistic soul. John had a particular fondness for building antique reproductions of chairs, each piece a testament to his dedication and skill. John's life was marked by an unwavering generosity and a genuine concern for others. Known for his warm spirit, he had an incredible ability to make everyone feel special and appreciated. Whether it was lending a helping hand or simply sharing a smile, John's presence was a comforting constant in the lives of those who knew him.

      A service in celebration of John's life will be held on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Lohman's Daytona Memorial Park & Funeral Home, located at 1423 Bellevue Ave, Daytona Beach, Florida.  Entombment to follow at Daytona Memorial Park.  Family and friends are invited to come together to honor the life and legacy of a truly remarkable man. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in John's memory to a charity of your choice, reflecting the spirit of giving that John embodied throughout his life. John E. Horton will be dearly missed, but his kindness, craftsmanship, and the love he shared with those around him will remain in our hearts forever.
