Funeral Services for John Thomas Grim age 57 of Holly Hill who died Tuesday August 23 2005 at home will be Saturday August 27th at 11:00 a.m. at Lohman Funeral Home Ormond with Deacon Brian Monahan as the celebrant. His family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday August 26 in the chapel of Lohman Funeral Home Ormond.
Mr. Grim was born March 7 1948 in Allentown PA to Paul and Mary McLaughlin Grim. He moved to this area in 1974 from Allentown PA. John received his bachelor?s degree from the University of Florida in 1979. John was a teacher at Atlantic High School where he taught Agriculture for the mentally handicapped. He was a volunteer and coached for the Special Olympics. In 1987 he coached a Special Olympics team that won an International Gold Medal at the University of Notre Dame. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Volusia County Teachers Assoc. Gator Booster Club University of Florida Alumni Assoc.. John loved to root for the Florida Gators camping and reading. John was predeceased by his brothers Bill Paul and Bob. Left to cherish his memory are his son Will P. of Ormond Beach FL his sister Mary Monahan and her husband Brian of Allentown PA three sister in laws Carol of Allentown PA Judy of Allentown PA and Linda of Ormond Beach FL a cousin Michael McLaughlin of Port Orange FL numerous nieces nephews and family.
