Beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend, John "Jack" Harry Fields died peacefully at Market Street Memory Care Facility in Palm Coast on November 23, 2022,  after a long decline from Alzheimer's.   He was 87 years old.  Jack was born June 11, 1935,  in Erie Pennsylvania and spent his childhood in Weslaco, Texas.  Around 1955, Jack  moved from Texas to Miami and attended the University of Miami.  Jack served in the US  Army and the US Army Reserves from 1957 to 1965, and subsequently had a long career  with Florida Power & Light that spanned approximately 34 years before retiring in 1993.   After his beloved wife Judy retired in 2002, Jack and Judy moved to Palm Coast, Florida.   In both Miami and in Palm Coast, Jack was always active, and worked happily, tirelessly  and from his heart for his church.  He was known from being a great pit master at the  many church barbeques, as well as singing a comforting baritone with all his heart and  soul in the church choir.  In addition to his work with St. Faiths (Miami) and St. Thomas  (Palm Coast), Jack enjoyed singing with the Choral Arts Society, and was a member of the  Lions Club (President), the Eye Bank (President), and the Sons of the American  Revolution.   Jack truly enjoyed fishing and boating (Miami), gardening, partying with  friends and working on his golf game.  After raising their three daughters, Jack and Judy  spent their time with both old friends (including the Miami Mafia – Miami transplants to  Palm Coast) and new friends, volunteering generously, and traveling with both friends  and family, and most often traveling and making memories with Jack's brother Bob and  his wife Gisela from San Antonio, Texas.  Jack is preceded in death by his father Ernest  Joel Fields, his mother Winifred Marie Fields, his first wife Judith Rawlings Fields, his  brothers‐in‐law (Jerry and Don), his sister‐in‐law (Gisela), his brother‐in‐law Vernon (Isla)  and his nephew Steven Sykes.  Jack is survived by his beloved and dedicated wife of 53  years, Judith Anne Linden Fields, his brother Colonel Robert Ernest Fields, his sister Marie  Fields Evans, his adoring three daughters: Lori Fields Newman (Peter), Carolyn C. Kahl,  and Suzanne Marie Fields (Bobby), his seven grandchildren:  Peter John Thomas Newman  (Brianna), Taylor Nicole Newman, Erin Aleigh Newman, Abigail Marie Kahl Olcese (Phillip),  Madeleine Anne Kahl (Jane), First Lieutenant Aidan C. Kahl (Jaclyn), and Kylie Jane Adkins,  great granddaughter Emma Anne Olcese, sister‐in‐law Eunice Linden Ray, sister‐in‐law  Celesta Linden Johnson, and he was Uncle Jack to many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Jack will live long and large in the hearts of all those that knew his love, kindness,  generosity and fun-loving spirit.  A celebration of Jack's life will take place on Saturday,  December 3, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Palm Coast.  In lieu of  flowers, the family asks those who are able and desire to do so, to honor Jack with a  donation to St. Thomas Episcopal Church Endowment Fund and/or the Palm Coast Choral  Arts Society.
