John Charles Driscoll, 73, of Ormond Beach, FL passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on Saturday, July 21, 2018. He was born May 13, 1945 in Staten Island, New York to Daniel and Julia (Connolly) Driscoll. John was a Master Electrician with the New York Transit Authority for 20 years. After his retirement, he started a career as a Marketing Director with various companies in the motorcycle industry. He was a member of various veterans' organizations. He had a profound love for his country and proudly served in the US Navy as a radarman from 1963-1967, during the Vietnam war.  Things that John took great pleasure in during his lifetime revolved around his family: serving as John Jr's motocross mechanic and mentor, spending time with his grandson, JD, fishing, going to the beach, and then being in his life as he evolved into a scholar and golfer. Of course there was his loving daughter-in-law Debbie with whom he took great pleasure in teasing incessantly!  And Mary, his wife of 50 years. During his retirement John enjoyed traveling to warm places, riding motorcycles, fishing, and golfing. He had a love for animals and took special pride in being Annie's (mut) father, and Max's (black lab) grandfather.

Survivors include his loving wife of 50 years, Mary Driscoll of Ormond Beach, his son John Jr., daughter-in-law Debbie and grandson John III of Lake Mary, FL., his brothers Daniel (Roberta) of Staten Island New York, Peter (Judith) of Oradell, New Jersey, numerous nieces, nephews, and grandnieces and nephews. and his 3 three special "Irish" cousins Mary Spataro, Theresa Padula, and Anne Battagliola. His brother-in-law, William Finn of Summerfield, Florida. He was preceded in death by, his parents, Julia and Daniel Driscoll.

A Celebration of Life with Military Honors will be held on Tuesday, August 7 ^th at 5:00 pm at Lohman Funeral Home; 733 W. Granada Blvd. Ormond Beach. The family will receive friends beginning at 3:00 pm. A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 8 ^th at 11:00 am at St. Mary Catholic Church; 89 Saint Mary Place Bunnell, FL.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made in John's memory to: John Driscoll Nursing Education Fund www.gofundme.com/john-driscoll-nursing-school-fund Arrangements are under the care of Lohman Funeral Home Ormond Beach.
