Funeral Services for our dear father John J. Devenny of Ormond Beach FL who entered into the Lord's loving care on December 7 2011 will be held on Saturday December 12th at 12:00 pm at Lohman Funeral Home Ormond; 733 W. Granada Blvd. Ormond Beach with Fr. Richard Grasso officiating. Family will receive friends one hour prior to services. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held at Our Lady of Hope Parrish/St. Jude's Catholic Church in Blackwood NJ on Tuesday December 13th at 11:30am. His family will receive friends one hour prior to the service also at the church. John was born February 14 1913 in Philadelphia PA. to John and Kathryn (Neeson) Devenny. He met and married Hilda Enley who preceded in death after 34 years of marriage and three children. Four years later in a match made by God John met and married Catherine his wife of 37 years. Their union joined John's three children with Catherine's seven children. After living in New Jersey most of their lives John and Catherine moved to Ormond Beach in June of 1979. John retired from RCA after 50 years as a Test Equipment Supervisor; he was a 3rd degree member of the Knights of Columbus and the Holy Name Society he served as an usher at his church for many years he was an avid ham radio operator he was a member of the Saturday Nighters and volunteered at the Library for the Blind. He enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and Europe. He treasured the time he spent with his family including his children 27 grandchildren and 51 great-grandchildren. John and Catherine's loving children include Marge Allison and her husband Tom with their two children and six grandchildren Hilda Roche and her husband Phil with their three children and five grandchildren Pete Acton and his wife Gail with their four children and six grandchildren John Devenny and his wife Sue with their two children and four grandchildren Dianne Acton and her husband Wil Mozingo with their five children and twelve grandchildren Kathy Myers and her husband Steve with their two children and seven grandchildren Kathy Banks with her husband Gary with their three children and five grandchildren Bill Acton with his three children and one grandchild John Acton and his wife Patti with their three children and five grandchildren Stephen Acton and his life partner Larry Creech.
