John G. Cole passed away July 28 2007 at Flagler Pine Nursing Home Bunnell FL with family at his side. A Memorial Service to celebrate John's life will be held in the chapel of Lohman Funeral Home Palm Coast on Wednesday August 1 at 11:00 a.m. His family will be receiving friends from 10:00 a.m. until service hour.
John was born August 4 1924 in Bergenfield NJ. He served in the in the U.S. Army at the Battle of the Bulge during WW II. He married Dorothy Haynes September 28 1945 in Duffield Derbyshire England. John worked as a truck driver in New Jersey and became Secretary/Treasurer of the Teamster Union local 680. He retired in 1979. The couple came to Palm Coast in 1980. He was a member and past Exalted Ruler of the Palm Coast Elks Club and a member of the VFW. He enjoyed golf bowling and fishing. He loved spending time with his family. Surviving him are his wife Dorothy daughter Deirdre "Dee" Jordan Palm Coast 5 grandchildren Michele O'Brien Palm Coast Kimberley Brockhaus Palm Coast Danielle Jordan Palm Coast Marina Cole New Jersey Geoffrey Cole New Jersey and seven great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son John Russell Cole. Memorial donations can be made in his name to hospice of Volusia/Flagler County.
