John Charles Chariton, lovingly known as "Char," passed away on June 18, 2024, at the age of 65 at Advent Health Fish Memorial Hospice. Born on November 11, 1958, in Rhinelander, WI, John was a devoted family man who cherished his loved ones above all else.
John resided in DeLand, FL, where he pursued his favorite hobbies of fishing, hunting, and traveling. One of his most beloved places in the world was Positano, Italy, where he discovered this gem during a Mediterranean cruise. Seafood was his culinary passion, and he indulged in it whenever he could.
A dedicated fan, John avidly followed the Green Bay Packers and NASCAR. His enthusiasm for sports was infectious, and he enjoyed discussing the latest games with friends and family. John was also a phlebotomist by profession, a role in which he took pride. His innate desire to help others made a difference in the lives of countless individuals.
John was married to his beloved spouse, Beth Chariton. Together, they built a life filled with love and shared memories. He leaves behind his children, Matt Harvey (Courtney) and Amanda Harvey, who will forever cherish his memory. John is also survived by his siblings, Marcia Weight (Douglas), Douglas Chariton (Gail) and Lisa Sugrue. He had many nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly. Preceded in Death were his loving parents, Douglas and Rita Chariton and beloved sister, Gayle Riley.
John's larger-than-life personality, kind heart, and willingness to lend a helping hand made a lasting impact on those who knew him. He will be remembered for his unwavering devotion to family and his genuine desire to make a positive difference in the lives of others.
In honor of John's life, a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
