John R. Cartwright 96 passed away July 18 2012. A memorial service in his honor will be held on Monday July 30 2012 at 7:00 P.M at Lohman Funeral Home Daytona 1423 Bellevue Ave Daytona Beach FL 32114. John's family will receive guests one hour prior to the time of service. John was an avid Dove hunter fisherman and devoted family man. He served in the United States Army during WWII fought at the Battle of the Bulge and was a prisoner of war in Germany. After the war John went into business with his brother and father; Cartwright & Sons trucking and heavy equipment services. John was also known for his smoked ribs and turkey. He was the beloved husband of the late Betty Cartwright for 62 years. Loving father of Debbie (George) Cartwright Brownfield and Tonya (Bill) Gugger. Caring grandfather of Robert Grubbs Melanie (Chris) Tomlinson Sonya Patten and great-grandfather of 3. John is now at peace with his brother; Walter E. Cartwright and sister; Sonya Griffin.
