Giovanni Carlo (John) Carra went home to be with his Lord on Sunday, April 27th. John was born in Naples, Italy and came to the United States as an infant. He lived most of his life in New York with his wife, Biaggia (Betty). John was a U.S. Navy Veteran who was a carpenter by trade, who also worked for the New York City Department of Buildings as an inspector before his retirement. He and his wife relocated to Palm Coast in 1990. He was a local sculptor and taught lessons through Palm Coast Adult Education and Flagler School System. His sculptures were at local galleries as well as the Home Show. John was the founder and president of the Millennium Art League and was very active in the local art community before becoming ill in 2004. John is survived by his wife of 66 years, Betty, and two sons, John Jr., who resides in Solana Beach, California and Robert (Jackie) who reside in Palm Coast: two grandsons, Bobby Carra (Anne), Philadelphia, PA and Michael Carra, New York; two great-granddaughters, Elizabeth (Izzy) and Stella Carra. John is also survived by two brothers, Tom Carra and Raymond Carra both reside in New York.
