John "Pops" Charles Cannon 77 passed away Monday August 6 2012. Memorial Service honoring John will be held Thursday August 9 2012 at Lohman Funeral Home Ormond at 10:00a.m.

John was predeceased by his wife of 47 years Marilyn Joan Cannon. John and Marilyn moved to Daytona 25 years ago from Ocean Grove NJ. John had worked as a truck driver in the furniture industry.

John proudly served his country in the Navy from 1954 to 1962. He received the Good Conduct Medal. John was a member of the American Legion #120 in Holly Hill.

John was with the Port Orange chapter of AA for 25 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Daytona Beach. He enjoyed walking and talking. He will be remembered as a "flirt".

John will be sadly missed by his 6 children: Arlene Cannon (Craig Foster) of Holly Hill Margaret Cannon of Illinois Charles Cannon (Anita) of Nevada Donald Cannon of New Mexico Jimmy Cannon (Cissy) of Missouri and John Cannon (Michelle) of So. Daytona. He will be mourned by his 19 grandchildren 3 great-grandchildren and his brother Frank Cannon of New Jersey. John was predeceased by his sister Marilyn Margaret Cannon. Arrangements are under the careful direction of Lohman Funeral Home Ormond.
